The Graduate Center of the City University of New York is offering a
full-time, 2 year post-doctoral position in speech production. Work
will be done on the movement and coordination of speech articulators
in first and second languages. Expertise in measurement systems for
speech articulation is required. Experience with ultrasound is
especially useful, as is familiarity with electromagnetic
articulometry. Duties will include assisting with the experiments
described in the grant (recruitment, setup, analysis and write-up),
coordinating with the PI on scheduling and maintenance of the Speech
Production Laboratory, and working on research project’s of the
applicant’s own design that advance the goals of the grant.
In addition to the performance of research, the chosen candidate will
also be given the opportunity to participate in the educational
activities of the graduate students in the Speech-Language-Hearing
Sciences and the Linguistics programs.
Grant writing will be supported and encouraged.
Salary: $40,000 to $50,000 annually
A Ph.D. in a speech related field (Linguistics, Speech and Hearing,
etc.) must be in hand before acceptance.
