The applicant will assist in the design and conduct of experiments outlined in active NIH and Bright Focus Foundation awards. The experiments include animal handling, behavioral testing, primary cell culture, cell line culture, tissue collection for biochemical assays as well as fixation, sectioning, and staining. SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, PCR, animal genotyping, and enzymatic assays among others will be required. The applicant will have a training role of lab technicians, undergraduate and graduate students. Data entry, analysis and publication and presentation of research are also required. Qualifications: Must have a Ph.D. and a background in Neuroscience, Pharmacology, Physiology, Biochemistry, or Molecular Biology. Applicant must have the following techniques: SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, primary and cell line cultures, microscopy, and tissue sectioning. Must have good computer skills. Postdoctoral fellow position is available immediately to work on NIH and BrightFocus Foundation-funded projects that focus on Alzheimer's disease, obesity, and cardiovascular disease using multidisciplinary approaches.
