Regular, Full-Time, RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM), Department of Anatomy, Biochemistry & Physiology, located in Honolulu, Hawaii. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws.
MINIMUM MONTHLY SALARY: $2,868/Mon.
DUTIES: Responsible for bench and mouse experimentation, interpretation of results, design of experiments, record-keeping, presentation of results at meetings, and preparation of manuscripts. Develops projects with progressively increasing levels of independence.
PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: PhD from an accredited college or university in a Biological field. EXPERIENCE: Some work experience with standard cell and molecular biology techniques, in vitro cell cultures, harvesting tissues from mice, and flow cytometry. ABIL/KNOW/SKILLS: Knowledge of general cell and molecular biology technical skills including, polymerase chain reaction (PCR), Western blotting, and molecular cloning. Knowledge of bioinformatics. Ability to perform procedures related to general cell and molecular biology techniques including PCR, Western blotting, and plasmid construction.
SECONDARY QUALIFICATIONS: Experience and knowledge in computer language and programming. Knowledge of the inflammatory response.
