Two (2) Regular, Full-Time, RCUH Non-Civil Service positions with the University of Hawaii Cancer Center (UH Cancer Center), located in Honolulu, Hawaii. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws.

MINIMUM MONTHLY SALARY: Salary commensurate with qualifications.

DUTIES: Responsible for designing, preparing and conducting experiments on investigating the DNA damage and p53 signaling pathways and their implications in tumor suppression and treatment, analyzing data, as well as preparing manuscripts. Presents research data at scientific conferences. Trains laboratory personnel in experimentation techniques.

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: PhD from an accredited college or university in cancer biology, DNA damage, or other related fields, and the first author publications in peer-reviewed journals. EXPERIENCE: Up to one (0-1) year of experience in cancer biology or DNA damage. ABIL/KNOW/SKILLS: Knowledge of cell and molecular biology. Skills in molecular and cellular biology techniques. Ability to use scientific equipment including laminar flow hood, centrifuge, and PCR machines. PHYSICAL/MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS: Able to carry/lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds.

SECONDARY QUALIFICATIONS: Enthusiastic, self-motivated candidates having a strong interest in studying DNA damage and p53 signaling pathways.
