Postdoc Position in Neuroscience – Department of Neurobiology, University of Chicago

The research project focuses on the synaptic mechanisms of visual processing in the mouse retina. We use transgenic mice and genetic tools to label specific types of retinal neurons, and study retinal circuits using a combination of experimental methods that include patch clamp recording from isolated retinas, optogenetics, two-photon imaging, molecular cloning and immunohistochemistry.
The successful candidate will have a recent Ph.D. degree in neuroscience and experience with electrophysiological recording methods. Previous experience in retinal biology, molecular biology and imaging are preferred.
