The Professional Services Consultant is an role involving both presales engineering and post-sales implementation. He/she is responsible for the following:
: Support 3-4 outside sales representatives by providing technical thought leadership of proposed IT solutions for each individual customer.
: Analyze the customer environment, discover and diagnose an IT or business problem.
: Conduct product & solution presentations to customers.
: Work with the product specialist team to create detailed configurations.
: Provide solution recommendations to customers via white board presentations, conference calls, and webinars.
: Develop relationships with customers and vendors to better understand customer needs and expand the reach of possible solutions.
: Implement data center infrastructure solutions.
Travel within the assigned sales region is required to visit customer sites. Typical travel does not exceed a 120 mile radius, and does not require overnight stays.
The Professional Services Consultant must have:
: 10+ years in technical roles with previous experience including presales responsibilities.
: The ability to communicate ideas both verbally and in writing to executive staff, business sponsors, and technical resources in clear and concise language.
: Experience in multiple Hardware and Software environments and be comfortable with complex heterogeneous systems environments.
: Multi-tasking capabilities to lead multiple projects simultaneously.
: Analytical ability to decide which technology to use in a given environment.
Required technical experience for this role:
: Strong background with enterprise server and storage solutions serving major ERP, CRM, SCM, or Data Warehouse systems.
: Strong Storage background. (EMC, HDS, and/or IBM)
: Working knowledge of Cognos and Oracle.
: Working knowledge of NAS storage (NetApp and/or Nseries)
