Preparation cook is a member of the Food & Beverage Team. S/he prepares and stores food for the hotel restaurant and banquets following IHR's Standard Operating Procedures and Food Safety procedures to ensure consistent quality . The Preparation Cook is required to work well in a team environment and enjoy serving customers in a positive, friendly manner.

The Prep Cook prepares and stores food for the hotel restaurant and banquets following IHR's Standard Operating Procedures and Food Safety procedures to ensure consistent quality . The prep cook's role is to assist in the preparation of meals by chopping vegetables, making salads, and putting together entrees. Other tasks could include, but not limited to: ensuring that food is stored properly, performing kitchen maintenance tasks such as emptying the trash and washing dishes, and testing the temperature of food at specified intervals. Follow safety and sanitation guidelines for immediate work area and entire operation, setup of line for service, and ensure proper food portions and recipe adherence.
The completely renovated hotel is located just two miles from General Mitchell International Airport, and is only eight miles from downtown Milwaukee and the Midwest Express Convention Center.
- Culinary degree or certification preferred
- Previous experience in a similar position preferred
- Banquet/hotel experience is highly desired.
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment, tools, and utensils highly desired
- Candidate will be required to have a flexible schedule which includes working weekends and holidays as business levels warrant.
- Must be detail oriented and manage time well.
- Must be able to work well in a team environment as well as independently
