The Pre-Sales Consulting Engineer provides high-level technical support and technology guidance to Account Managers and clients. The Pre-Sales CE will assist in building and presenting Presidio Solutions and technology to a range of internal and external audiences. Relationship skills, understanding customer needs, and applying relevant solutions to meet these needs are required for this position. As a Pre-Sales CE, the sharing of technical and business knowledge within the account team will be emphasized to further develop team expertise and effectiveness. The Pre-Sales CE will lead aligning business objectives with solutions and provide guidance through the Presidio Strategic Engagement Framework.
Develop a technical account strategy and plan to suit the business requirements.
Support tactical opportunities (i.e. Product configurations, documentation, internal and external training, etc.) and adapt existing Presidio solutions that address a specific customer need.
Develop strong relationships with customer middle management, based on the role of a trusted technical advisor in area(s) of specialization.
Perform & represent the network design activities with minimal assistance, effectively engage extended team for support.
Lead discussions with Presidio Managers in validating the Presidio solution.
Perform effective time management across short and long term pre-sales and customer/partner support activities.
Position the technical trends of the internetworking industry to peers and customers/partners
Effectively deliver to a technical audience, customize technology & product presentations and whiteboard discussions addressing customer applications. Conduct effective meetings with customer, influence and document customer requirements.
Articulate to the customer Presidios differentiation concerning Strategic Engagement Framework. Effectively position Presidios solutions as part of the sale.
7 to 10 years field technical sales experience working with large accounts or territories, as a Consulting Engineer or equivalent
Able to white board solutions to a diverse audience
Advanced level understanding of the market segment business and technical requirements
Implementation and administration background with Cisco Unified Communications (Telepresence, Collaboration, Applications), Video/Audio systems (TANDBERG, Polycom), Call Manager & Call Manager Business Edition, Unity, Unity Express, Call Manager Express, UCCX, Presence, Jabber
Cisco Voice certification strongly preferred
Experience working with or for a Value Added Reseller (VAR)
Experience working in a pre-sales capacity
