Pricing Analyst - Category - 338316

This position’s primary responsibility will be to execute approved pricing tactics as well as developing new pricing strategies in order to grow sales and profitability in select channels or categories. The successful candidate must be able to manage multiple tasks, own deliverables end to end, prioritize workload effectively, and thrive in a dynamic environment. This individual must be self-motivated, work well in time a constrained environment and be able to effectively communicate with key stakeholders across the organization.
Major Responsibilities:

Implements monthly price change activity; ensure prices are created utilizing approved business rules and logic. Evaluates effectiveness of pricing strategies and modifies pricing structures as needed. Analyze the performance of current pricing strategies and make recommendations to optimize pricing rules.
Actively participate in the development and implementation of price optimization tools/models and “what if” analysis. Research applicable techniques, develop pricing/costing models, and perform quantitative analysis in order to provide price guidance.
Work with Category and/or Channel managers to understand and implement intended price positioning
Gather and analyze data to support strategic pricing opportunities against published or disclosed prices of competitors in the market place. Conduct on-going market research and make recommendations regarding pricing policies.
Perform price change impact analysis, including GM risk and profitability assessments
Prepare reports, charts and recommendations of data analyzed.
Qualifications ( Skills/Knowledge) Required:
  • Advanced skills in the use of Microsoft products, including Excel, Word, Access, Financial Data Warehouses (e.g., Hyperion), and PROS pricing software
Excellent Excel modeling skills (a must) and strong attention to detail are required to be successful in this position.
Strong analytical, quantitative, and qualitative analysis skills required.
  • Aptitude to analyze large sets of discrete data to identify trends, issues and opportunities
The ability to extract information and insights from multiple data sources as well as design and lead the development of reporting and modeling solutions.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Mathematics or Statistics OR equivalent in work experience
  • Minimum of 3+ years of progressive responsibility in Pricing related experience, preferably with experience in both pricing operations and analytics
  • Familiarity setting item level pricing across multiple channels and/or categories
