Proactively advise and assist business areas on US and other international indirect tax matters (including but not limited to Ad Valorem & Property taxes, Sales & Use taxes, customs & excise taxes)
  • Proactively support the business with strategic indirect tax advice
  • Support the organization in handling and managing indirect tax risks
  • Update the organization about new legislation and provide support in the implementation of new legislation
  • Design and implement indirect tax methods and requirements in business processes
  • Prepare and follow up on strategic indirect tax correspondence with government authorities and external advisors
  • Liaise with all sub-team members of Indirect Tax and members of the Indirect Tax team
  • Participate and advise indirect tax matters on projects
  • Perform indirect tax analysis and assessments when required
  • Evaluate vendor proposals from an indirect tax perspective
  • Qualifications
    • Master’s degree in accounting or law
    • CPA certification is desirable but not essential
    • 8+ years experience in indirect taxes in the US with an oil and gas company, the tax authorities, a public accounting firm or a law firm
    • Strong indirect tax network
    • 5+ years experience in upstream oil and gas activities
    • Experience in indirect taxes in different states and neighbouring countries
    • Experience in risk management
    • Local terms and conditions apply
