IPS is committed to delivering measurable business value and providing clients best-in-class processes, innovative solutions, and, most importantly, excellent people. Currenlty we are looking for Principal Consultants with strong backgrounds in either SAP, PeopleSoft, Siebel, or Oracle.
o Discovery: Conduct requirements workshops; understand the As-Is processes / current system study; identify high level process / system changes; act as a lead in small engagements.
o Architecture / Design / Detailing of processes: Conduct fit-gap analysis and and arrive at solution alternatives. Lead the detailed solution design in small engagements and review the work of team members. Deliver detailed solution to customer.
o Development and Configuration: Prepare the configuration sheets in line with the detailed design, configure the instance, plan the activities for configuration, conduct conference room pilot (CRP), assist the technical team in resolving requirement and solution design related queries, work with product vendors in resolving product issues.
o Validation: Create and/ or review test plans (Unit, SIT, UAT), test cases, and test execution reports, perform testing, conduct root cause analysis / debug issues.
o Program / Project Management: Lead small/medium size programs.
o Perform project management activities in some cases like project plan development and deployment, monitor progress as per plan, resource and task allocation, track project delivery, influence relevant stakeholders to ensure project delivery as planned.
o Deployment: Follow the steps for deployment as envisaged in the project plan, assist in/ create deployment plans with contingency plans
o Training and Change Management: Train the users (end and key users); prepare training material if required; to ensure a smooth transition to the new system / process for the users.
o Knowledge Transfer: Conduct knowledge transition sessions with support team in the functional areas, and impart knowledge on business context, solution design, open issues, possible issues, manage transition.
o Issue Resolution (Incident / Problem Resolution): Resolve simple common issues with speed and accuracy; perform root cause analysis. Provide issue communication.
o Quality Management: Understand the various quality processes applicable to the projects. If leading a team, ensure that the team follows the laid out processes; collect and submit the various quality parameters like review defects, effort, schedule deviation, productivity, etc. to superior for analysis to deliver a high quality solution to the customer.
o Knowledge Management: Publish BOKs on new features in a product, innovative solutions deployed, new modules, and participates in training activities; conduct training; assist in developing certification program to build the knowledge repository.
o Thought Leadership / IP Creation: Create, review, and submit papers/POVs to create IPs.
o Talent Management: At higher proficiency levels, participate in recruitment activities; mentor and groom at least one or more ACON each year to expose them to organization people management practices, and thus groom themselves for higher roles.
o Presales: Assist in presales activities as a SME by giving inputs in solution design and team structure; answer / review proposals, provide presales demos, also own proposals to arrive at proposals that have a robust solution and are agreeable to the client.
o Effort Estimation and Proposal Development: For projects / prospects and existing customers; develop a proposal by owning parts of the proposal document; give inputs in solution design based on areas of expertise; conduct Solution / Product demonstration and POC / Proof of technology workshop; prepare effort estimates which suit the customer budgetary requirements and are in line with Infosys financial guidelines for projects to deliver a proposal acceptable to the customer and to Infosys.
o Problem Definition: Participate in client discussions to understand the problems faced by the customer and articulate the same to the internal stakeholders; define and document the problem and get customer agreement; bring in best practices in the industry; are able to provide different options to assist in identifying the problem as viewed by the customer.
o Solution Development: Able to leverage project experience / package / technology and domain knowledge to assist in solution development based on industry research, business understanding, and own a part of the solution to build a solution independently/ or as part of a larger team.
o Solution Evaluation and Recommendation: Arrive at possible solution alternatives that factor in gap resolution, impact on related functional areas, and acceptability of the solution to the user community, technical feasibility, and efficiency.
Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field. Should have 11+ years of experience. Strong understanding and depth in an industry vertical. Strong understanding and depth in functional process in that industry vertical for e.g. Finance, HR, or Supply Chain process. Thorough knowledge of ERP packages to include either SAP, Oracle, Siebel, or Peoplesoft. Business consulting skills to include business accumen, influencing/negotiating skills with client/product vendors and external stakeholders, client interfacing abilities to provide advisory consulting to senior level client executives, and ability to provide thought-leadership to industry.
