Under the general direction of the Associate Vice Chancellor of Planning and Budget, the incumbent performs the highest level of analysis to aid in the financial planning and strategic management of the UCI campus. The incumbent will design and perform analyses as well as conduct innovative and comprehensive reviews of a variety of complex resource and policy issues. This work will include independently reviewing, researching, and analyzing campus and system-wide policies with budgetary and resource allocation implications, providing analysis of policies and programs, and assisting in the development of strategies designed to achieve campus objectives.
Work completed by incumbent contributes to major campus objectives or resolution
impacts campus strategic decision making processes. This position has specialized requirements in addition to possessing knowledge of a wide range of concepts, principles, and practices of campus administration as well as skill in applying this knowledge to programs, methods, approaches, or procedures; the incumbent must possess a thorough knowledge of University accounting and finance principles, practices, and procedures or proven ability to develop such knowledge; and a thorough knowledge of financial management principles, including forecasting and reporting techniques.
The UCI Budget Office
The mission of the Budget Office is to provide professional analytical and resource management expertise that support campus decision-making and effective management of campus resources. The Budget Office serves the campus current and long range planning efforts associated with the campus operating and capital budgets by providing accurate, timely, and meaningful analysis of budget and financial information. Additionally the office develops and implements policies and procedures for the effective management of campus financial resources.
Salary: Range $Commensurate with experience.
Work Schedule: 8-5, M-F
