Job responsibilities will include:
To direct the planning and technical development of major software projects to meet performance, schedule, and cost goals for Rosemount’s software based instruments and/or systems.
- Project leader for calibration system software, including preparation of cost/schedule/technical requirements
- Provides technical expertise and leadership in new technologies and software/database development platforms
- Develops applications and database systems to enable the best possible product calibration
- Prepares a long term software system strategy to improve product calibrations and utilize new technologies
- Assures accuracy and timeliness of software and database system documentation
Applies technical expertise, commensurate with a recognized expert in the applicable field, in the development of major complex products and/or systems. Invents new techniques or advances the state-of-the-art in complex developments with substantial technical risks. Extends technical knowledge to introduce new approaches into software design and coding techniques. Is aware of probably future product requirements and trends regarding new technologies. Provides technical consultation through the company within areas of expertise.
Interacts frequently at a high level with customers, vendors, industry peers, academicians, and other functional groups coordinating both technical and administrative matters. Recognized as an expert in technical matters by the company. Frequent exchange with academic and industry experts on emerging software techniques. Has frequent interaction with other functional groups to define and match software with new markets or market needs. Prepares technical proposals and participates in sales effort. May represent Rosemount on technical committees.
Prepares detail plans, which may span well over a year, for complex programs or projects. Initiates or recommends broad new development projects. Establishes technical program goals and defines plans and cost/schedule requirements.
Administers technical policies and procedures. Assures accuracy and timeliness of complete software documentation package. Generates accurate and timely project and final reports. Approves and/or writes ECA’s and specifications.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (ABET-accredited) is required. Eight (8) years of applicable experience. Masters degree preferred.
Experience with MSWindows application - Visual Studio, .NET, VBA, and SQL Server database is desired
This is a first shift position.
