Job Description
Technical and supervisory responsibility for analysis
and designs of shipping containers for transportation of
unirradiated nuclear fuel, spent nuclear fuel, and
irradiated reactor components including preparing safety
analysis reports for packaging (SARP) to meet Federal
transportation requirements. Develop and maintain a
working knowledge of the regulatory documents governing
radioactive material shipments (e.g. 10CFR71 and related
Regulatory Guides and NUREGs) and UTRS documents for
reactor servicing equipment (e.g. RES-66, RIM-63).
Maintain awareness of commercial practices by attending
professional society meetings and DOE sponsored training
courses. Direct development of structural analysis
methods used to evaluate designs demonstrating
compliance with NNPP and Federal requirements. Establish
and maintain relationships with interface organizations
throughout the NNPP (e.g. Naval Reactors, Bettis, NRF,
BPMI, Shipyards) needed to carry out the functional
responsibilities. Provide technical direction and
mentoring to to promote the professional growth of
junior engineers.

Job Requirements:
BS degree in Engineering from an accredited college or
A minimum of nine years of relevant experience.
Experience in mechanical design and/or structural
Demonstrated leadership

finite element analysis methods. Demonstrated project
