We currently have a career opportunity for a Principal Facilities Engineer at our Harbor Drive facility in San Diego, CA.
This position supports the 12KV and 480V electrical distribution systems used by Solar Turbines, Harbor Drive facility, to power the plant. The position requires specialized knowledge of high voltage transformers, substations and power generation systems that are critical to the business for operating the machinery and providing power to all the facilities at the Harbor Drive location. The candidate will have to ensure that a wide variety of electrical systems around the plant are maintained properly, serviced and upgraded to comply with all regulatory codes and ensure a safe environment for employees.
The successful candidate will:
Maintain electrical power for Harbor drive facilities, machinery, data center and equipment.
Maintain the 12KV and 480V electrical systems at our Harbor Drive facility.
Bachelor of Science or MS in Electrical Engineering
A Professional Engineering license is preferred for this position.
The candidate will need experience with 12KV and 480V systems
A strong understanding of federal, state, county and OSHA regulatory codes.
Willingness to support internal customers, provide direction to Facility Engineers and Maintenance personnel regarding electrical installations, upgrades and repairs required throughout the Harbor Drive plant.
The candidate will need to communicate well with all levels of management both orally as well as in written formats.
