Key Objectives
This role is focused on driving product strategy, and identifying new trends and opportunities, business and product offerings in and around the CCP/Clearinghouse space across asset classes. These will include adjacent functionality such as collateral management; CCP risk, capital and segregation; and CCP/Clearinghouse member services and offerings.. The individual must be an industry evangelist that understands the space/market extremely well and will pioneer our clearing strategy and roadmap. As an Industry Expert, he/she will collaborate and matrix with the product development team, business development & strategy team and sales team. The role will define, in collaboration with the above teams, opportunities within the market segment, our market share of the segment, and NASDAQ OMX's competitiveness within this market segment. Frequent travel is required.

The industry expert must be able to identify and pioneer cutting edge innovation and quickly identify market trends, customer needs, market segmentation and the business drivers. In addition, the ability to orchestrate and create solutions and define business cases which are feasible and growth oriented. Additionally, the individual will be responsible for identifying intellectual property and patent considerations. The main objective for the Industry Expert is to be an integral part of Global Product Management and to provide expertise and sales support to our external and internal customer's cases.
As a key expert within the global clearing arena making sure that decisions and strategies are based on a correct and comprehensive understanding of, and direction of, the Industry and our competition
Industry Specialists act as a bridge between the customer/market requirements and the delivered solutions. In terms of collaboration and organizational interfaces this corresponds to the Sales unit and the Global Software Development unit.
Targeting Market Technology's marketplace customers, the team works and interacts with all NASDAQ OMX business areas to define and create offerings, new services as well as new profitable revenue streams, based on NASDAQ OMX's business assets that exist across the organization.
As a key member of the Global Product Management team, the Senior Industry Expert/Product Manager will actively participate in the business management and territory planning, working closely with the head of Product Management/Business Development and Head of Sales within each region. This role will be focus on expanding our offerings within Post Trade to both existing and potential customers across the globe.
Expertise: Being the common resource for providing expertise in his/ her area covering all asset classes. Act as a domain expert and continuously improve level of knowledge within the NASDAQ OMX organization - especially within sales and development teams.
Product Management - Responsible for managing the profit and loss of the clearing products in conjunction with the financial control team. Includes decisions on recommended investments and functionality for the platform. Participate in pricing decisions and bid preparation.
Business Modeling: Analyzing customer requirements and creating a business model suitable for proposing a solution. Working closely with Product Development and Development to ensure that product requirements/functionality meet customer needs. Analyzes multi-year growth strategy. Develop and write business cases for new products and offerings.
Standards: Responsible for maintaining the applicable standards within the market segment and business best practices relevant for the market segment offerings.
Competitor analysis: As part of the Industry knowledge keep special focus and attention on competitive offerings as well as competitors. Ability to identify and recommend build/buy/acquire tactics and participate in the execution of the recommendations.
Sales support and training: Mapping business drivers to possible strategies - building customer oriented business cases. Working with sales teams to deliver customer specific solutions, including assisting in responding to RFIs/RFPs, and other pre-sales work product. Develop USPs and value proposition positioning.
Solutions Management and architecting: Participate in design studies and provide input into new products/markets/features/functions/enhancements.
Participate in development product decisions.
Market/Thought Leadership - Responsible for positioning NASDAQ OMX's products in the global market, and participation on industry presentations / panels. Write and/or contribute to white papers and other thought leadership collateral.
The Senior Industry Expert reports to the Head of Product Management/Business Development, and will be expected to work closely with the global development and global sales team. International travel is required.
As Senior Industry Expert, you will be responsible for the creation and business analysis of our offerings and the development of directives around business and pricing models.

Knowledge and Skills
Experience in risk, collateral management, custody and treasury systems
Deep and wide knowledge about the Financial Industry covering equity and fixed income instruments, commodities and derivatives with special focus on the Post Trade landscape.
Experience in working with Calypso, Murex, and/or in-house developed clearing systems either with a vendor to, or in, an exchange/clearinghouse setting
Demonstrable knowledge across the relevant products and services in the financial industry.
Excellent communication skills including negotiation skills gained in a client facing environment.
Excellent skills in English (written and spoken).

At least 10 years experience from the Financial Industry Significant experience in the following areas:

Expert knowledge in relevant products and services
Experienced in creating commercial offerings and viable business cases

Academic degree corresponding to a Master in either Engineering (e.g. Software Science), Finance or Business.
