The Procurement/Pricing Manager is responsible for managing and providing leadership for Ocean Freight Forwarding (OFF) procurement and pricing activities across the “Americas”. The Procurement/Pricing Manager works with cross-functional global teams to establish and maintain OFF pricing strategies. The Procurement/Pricing Manager’s is responsible to identify and lead contract and price negotiations with third party vendors to meet OFF volume and profit targets.


Contract Management: Lead negotiations with carrier base:

Identify potential vendors

Negotiate and confirm OFF rates with carriers

Negotiate Ocean Carrier contracts

Ensure profitability of negotiated rates and contracts.

Carrier Relationships: Liaise with and develop relationships with carrier partners at various senior levels.

Support Corporate carrier relationships

Pricing Strategy and Support: Provide procurement planning and pricing information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends

Capitalize on market knowledge and make strategic recommendations to adjust current and future pricing.

Manage procurement, pricing and quoting OFF rates for all trade lanes

Act as the key point of contact for global OFF rate enquiries - assist Regional international freight forwarding (IFF) sales team in their pricing requirements. Work with sales, customer service, and global offices/agents in rate quires, tenders, and quotes.

Tender Support: Coordinate all OFF tenders for the “Americas”

Make Go/No Go recommendations on tenders

Lead tender process improvement projects

Monitor and report KPI on tender process for the US.

Assist Bid Owner and Main Bid Coordinators to collect response from assigned region.

Manages LCL pricing and GDS Rate Management process.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES; Supervises Procurement/Pricing Coordinator and Pricing Analyst.


Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree plus five to seven years’ (including 3+ years of previous supervisory experience) of related experience in transportation, logistics, or project management; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
