Purpose of role:
To develop sourcing strategies that will allow the business to leverage its scale to deliver a long-term competitive advantage in the capital equipment and related services buying categories including Packaging Equipment and Controls. The individual will manage global initiatives as well as transfer best practices in the related buying categories across regions and/ or business segments to drive continuous improvement. This individual will lead the negotiation, management and contracting for key packaging equipment and controls buying categories within Global Capital while working collaboratively with key clients. The individual will be responsible for managing price, supply and legal risk within their respective areas.
Lead the execution of global buying strategies for key buying categories which include but are not limited to Packaging Equipment and Controls
Deliver competitive advantage through superior price and risk management in respective buying categories.
Develop & drive global buying strategies.
Lead efforts to leverage supplier resources and deliver innovation.
Identify and drive financial commitments within the relative categories.
Manage all levels of internal client management & business partner relationships with key suppliers. Work collaboratively with Global Engineering and other cross functional partners to develop and implement global engineering standards.
Develop Master Capital Equipment Agreements & related Services Agreements globally and/or as required by business needs (securing price, volume rebates, capacity & service levels in line with the needs and commitments to the business).
Develop and maintain sustainable supplier relationships with key suppliers. Implement corrective actions as appropriate. Act as point of escalation.
Establish & maintain relationships with internal clients such as Supply Heads, Segment Engineering Heads and their teams to ensure understanding of their needs and to facilitate the appropriate level of challenge.
Be(come) a subject matter expert in respective category as well as within the businesses
Comply with internal policies, systems & controls
Establish and maintain working relationship with the Capital Buying Managers across all regions
Act as the Lead Contact for one defined segment/ category on a global basis as needed
Challenge existing business norms to exploit supplier & industry developments to deliver competitive advantage.
Identify and transfer best practices across the region/segments.
Performs/ Supports special projects as required.

5-8 years experience
