In accordance with Trinity Health’s Corporate Supply Chain policies and procedures, process purchase orders for a variety of goods and services requested by Trinity Health Home Office and Ministry Organizations. Organizes, and/or prioritizes work assignments in placing of orders for goods and services using a variety of automated and manual methods to a large number of suppliers. Perform a variety of transactions utilizing an automated Supply Chain Information System but not limited to: placement of Purchase Orders (PO) to suppliers, process PO confirmations & PO exceptions, emergent requests, escalate backorder situations to appropriate team member and support customer inquiries according to defined processes. Routinely handle confidential records and participate in discussions surrounding confidential matters relative to supplier relationships and expected to maintain confidentiality within the Supply Chain Management department.

Minimum High School Diploma. One (1) to two (2) years college preferred. One (1) to two (2) years experience in purchasing or a related field required. Knowledge and experience of healthcare field preferred. Must be able to effectively articulate packaging, pricing and contractual specifications in terms easily understood by various internal and external associates from a wide range of backgrounds. Strong problem solving skills with ability to research problems and present findings. Ability to produce effective oral and written communications. Must have proven prioritization and coordination skills, strong organizational skills as well as high level of initiative. Must be able to respond quickly and easily to change, considering new approaches and demonstrating comfort with unpredictable problems. Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others. Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment. Ability to establish and maintain productive, positive working relationships with all levels of the organization in a large, multi-level, geographically dispersed organization. Meticulous in attention to detail and skillful in data entry and typing. Must have demonstrated knowledge of appropriate applications: Excel, Word and use of web applications. Knowledge of Lawson or an ERP application is preferred.
