The Procurement/Supply Chain Management (P/SCM) IT Solutions Consulting team maintains a suite of procurement technology applications and tools in support of all aspects of Chevron’s Supply Chain business processes, inclusive of Supplier Management, Sourcing, Contract Development and Maintenance, Electronic Cataloging, Procure through Pay transactions, Logistics, Contingent Labor Management, and Business Intelligence. Procurement tools are utilized by thousands of users worldwide across all of the Chevron Business Units. They include applications such as SAP and JDE Materials Management, Ariba Buyer/Sourcing/Contracts, Ketera (ASP - Catalog Content Management), Amalto (ASP - XML transaction integrations with suppliers), BizNet (ASP - Supplier Scorecarding), iLogistics, and others.
The Solutions Consulting position reports to the Manager, Procurement/SCM IT Solutions Consulting.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Provides expert knowledge and functional solutions consulting in one or several of Chevron’s P/SCM applications.
Applies deep knowledge of Chevron's P/SCM processes to the functional design of Procurement tools and applications.
In partnership with Chevron's IT System Support organization and ASP Vendors, is overall responsible for the functional design and timely implementation of enhancements to Procurement applications following Chevron's ‘Operational Excellence’ (OE) principles.
Engages with Procurement specialists, Business Integration leads, and Procurement process advisors enterprise wide to gather business requirements for translation into system solutions. Ensures application design strengthens effectiveness and efficiency of P/SCM processes and aligns with business requirements and strategic directions. As needed, manages/leads design validation sessions with a wide forum of Procurement professionals across all Business Units.
In partnership with P/SCM IT Client Technology Managers:
Provides guidance and input to the P/SCM Change Governance and project prioritization processes, as well as business case development.
Assists in the deployment of new functionality and/or enhancements to Business Partners.
Collaborates with P/SCM IT Strategist/Architect to develop solution strategies and visions in support of evolving customer needs and technology innovations.
Engages with application vendor(s) and acts as a Chevron point-of-contact to help shape future application functionality
Manages supplier relations with P/SCM third-party application service providers, and assists Procurement professionals in renegotiating contracts.
Provides level 2 application support (expert knowledge) to Chevron's IT System Support group in one or several P/SCM application domains
May lead small to medium sized IT projects/enhancements using Chevron’s Project Execution methodology (CPDEP).
Other areas with varying degrees of responsibility: P/SCM IT Governance Council and Change Management process, Strategic Road Map, Chevron’s Enterprise Function IT Portfolio Prioritization and Organizational Capability.
Deep knowledge of eProcurement processes (including Procure-through-Pay) and associated application solutions.
Deep functional knowledge in one or several of the following applications: SAP, JDE, Ariba Suite of Tools, Ketera (ASP - Catalog Content Management), Amalto (ASP - XML transaction integrations with suppliers), BizNet (ASP - Supplier Scorecarding), iLogistics, or other comparable applications, including their integrations and collaboration capabilities.
Broad knowledge in one or several of Procurement/Supply Chain Management processes, including category management, contracting, operational procurement, logistics, warehousing,
Broad knowledge in Supplier Relationship Management.
Business analysis skills .
Bachelors Degree preferred.
5+ years of Supply Chain Management/Procurement experience.
5+ years of supporting/managing IT applications.
Relocation may be considered. *LI-JM1
