Role Purpose
The Producer is responsible for coordinating the entire studio operation both on and off the air.

  • Produce news program content, including but not limited to outlining and formatting show flow, determining news and sports stories to be shown during the assigned sportscast or program, highlight management and coordinating online & social media components
  • Leading the direction and flow of show and communicating directly with the announcers on the air
  • Coordinate reporter integration and live content during broadcast
  • Take sportscast and program from concept to completion—day after day
  • Develop contingency plan for handling breaking stories
  • Stay in communication with assignment desk
  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day show staff
  • Interface and communicate with all levels of production personnel to ensure a seamless and extremely well organized operation
  • Identify specific show responsibilities
  • Organize all production meetings, formats and scripts on a daily basis
  • Maintain and exhibit extensive knowledge of international soccer
  • Write material for broadcast
  • Prepare all talent for broadcast
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Produce specials or original programming as assigned
  • Produce programming outside the conventional form

    Basic Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree in Radio/TV/Film, Communications, or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum of seven (7) years television experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years television or digital experience working on soccer related content
  • Minimum of two (2) years of live producing experience
  • Previous newsroom experience, preferably within regional or national sports
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment
  • Must possess poise under pressure and be able to meet tight deadlines, change and numerous other tasks
  • Prior experience operating a control room
  • Ability to maintain accuracy and details as it pertains to the newscast
  • Must be creative and possess excellent copy editing skills
  • Prior experience working with, and developing technical applications and integration
  • Thorough knowledge of local and national sports required
  • Excellent knowledge of current events, regionally, nationally, as well as, internationally
  • Ability to guide writers, reporters, contributors, production assistants and others in order to complete a well-structured newscast
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude and leadership qualities with the ability to handle multiple tasks and set priorities
  • Must be a team player
  • Must be organized and detail oriented
  • Must be willing to take constructive feedback
  • Have exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Must be willing to work non-traditional hours, weekends & holidays
