Description

Overview:
As a member of the Internet Production team, the Omnichannel Producer is responsible for ensuring the product management and execution of specific pieces of strategy, project management, and evolution of Omnichannel technology initiatives that cross the web, mobile and in-store technology features and functions. Projects can be customer and/or employee facing. The Omnichannel Producer’s function is both detail-intensive and wide in scope, requiring among other capabilities, the capacity to specify the functionality and organization of Omnichannel technology and then work with development, store, website, creative, production, and third party partners/vendors to construct and implement the working application.

Key Accountabilities:
Planning & Executing Technology Product Development

Manage project resources, tasks and schedules and effectively communicate across departments (Bloomingdale’s Department Store (BDS), Bloomingdales.com, Macys.com, development, merchandising, creative, marketing, store operations & legacy systems) to define scope of work/objectives and ensure deadlines for deliverables are consistently met on specific technology enhancements

Define and document requirements for each technology enhancement. These requirements define the expected functionality and provide the technical teams direction so that they can scope and execute

Amass the technology enhancements list, and provide support and direction to the business stakeholders (e.g., Site Production, Creative, In-store Sales, and Store & Systems Operations teams) as needed on these enhancements

Produce technology enhancements, gain consensus across teams and channels, set and maintain a high level project plan across teams, manage user testing and communicate project status to business partners and senior management

Consult with individual team managers and members to resolve schedule/resource conflicts

Partner with the business teams to understand merchandising, branding, marketing, and customer experience objectives, ensuring that all projects effectively support the strategy

Evaluate, critique and contribute to information design and content organization

Conduct and participate in project meetings with all interested groups (e.g., online & in-store marketing, merchandising, creative, legal, development, third party service/technology providers) to evaluate potential changes to the technology

Active participant in enhancement meetings and leads all Analysis & Design meetings for specific enhancements

Optimizing & Maintaining Technology Functionality

Identify and act upon opportunities for improvement on existing technology functionality and for ensuring consistent performance

Act as the business owner for specific omnichannel initiatives and build an expertise on the technology, limitations, opportunities and related projects

Work with the appropriate merchandising, marketing, creative, store communications, training, and store operations teams to ensure that the release is thoroughly tested prior to signing off

Research technology issues (live and testing) and resolve or prioritize resolution with efficiency

Requires up to 35% travel to Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s offices and stores to participate in planning, roll out, and trouble shooting of new technology

Job Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree

Proficient knowledge of the Internet/Web/Mobile

Usability and customer-focused design experience

E-commerce/direct-to-consumer website experience desired

Prior omnichannel project experience desired

Awareness of emerging technology trends

In-store retail understanding & prior exposure to Store POS Retail Systems or Legacy Warehouse Management Systems a plus

Strong analytical, problem-solving and negotiating skills

Prior experience researching, reviewing, and working with vendor technology solutions desired

Technical proclivity to learn new systems / technology for future incorporation or integration to the Omnichannel experience

Ability to direct and manage workflows within diverse peer and senior teams

Must be creative, resourceful, decisive, and resilient

Comfortable meeting with and presenting to senior executives
