PowerFilm, the industry leader in the production of flexible solar products has an opening for a Product Design/Mechanical Engineer. Under the direction of the VP of Engineering, the Production Design/Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for applying the principals and techniques of mechanical engineering in the planning, development, design, construction or any other aspect of engineering work regarding specifications for code compliance and recommendations for the design and development of products, tools and mechanical production equipment.
The position requires a four-year degree in Mechanical Engineering or an associate degree in related field plus two or more year’s relevant experience, knowledge of MS Excel Spreadsheet software and MS Word Processing software and extensive knowledge & experience using Autodesk AutoCAD and Dassault Systems SolidWorks. In addition, the ideal candidate will have experience working with outside vendors to secure product materials at the best possible price point. Experience with injection molding a plus, but not required.
