Design & release engineer responsible for axle differential assemblies (conventional, plate style limited slip and electric locking). The position entails managing existing differential designs for current production axles as well as developing new designs for future model applications. The engineer will be responsible for quality, cost, weight, function, program timing, vehicle attribute targets and compatibility requirements. Position Duties: Component D&R for transmission shafts to meet program milestones, QCWF objectives, and subsystem compatibility requirements Execute the design and development for forward model programs per the GPDS process Development of DFMEA, engineering foundation documents, significant characteristics transmittal forms and DVP&R Coordinate and manage DV/PV testing Engineering specification development Product launch support Develop and publish engineering documents (design rules, boundary diagrams, P-diagrams, reliability robustness documentation)

Experience Required:
Minimum 5 years automotive product development / design & release experience (trans. or axle experience preferred) Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills Ability to lead meetings Motivated self starter with an eagerness to quickly learn NVH, calibration, metallurgy and manufacturing experience a plus Some travel to suppliers or assembly plants may be required

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (M.S. in Engineering or MBA preferred)
