Gast Manufacturing, a division of IDEX, is currently seeking a Product Manager, Marketing for our manufacturing facility. This hands-on position, reporting to the Director of Global Marketing, will be a pivotal part of the overall strategic direction of the business, its products and markets served. The Product Manager plans will assist in generating increased profit, market share gain and overall customer satisfaction for the company. They will champion and implement all new product and market strategies, whilst determining the most effective and successful approach to growing the existing portfolio. The GAST Product Marketing Manager Position will be responsible for products and segments within our GAST portfolio on a global platform. This role includes a comprehensive portfolio serving the air controlled needs of many segments including, medical, industrial, laboratory, agriculture and many others. This position is primarily located in Benton Harbor, MI and will have responsibility for the growth and development of our product portfolio and segments worldwide.

As Product Marketing Manager, your primary focus will be on providing the business the key information and guidance as it relates to the 4-P's, as well as critical insight to multiple channels and segments. As this person will be a major and vital influencer on the overall direction of the business, GAST Manufacturing is seeking a proven champion, with a winning spirit. The ideal candidate will be exemplify and demonstrate a results-driven, long track record of successful execution of plans and growing responsibilities in a top company(ies). This person must have the ability to understand a larger vision, and break it down into strategic product plans to better serve and grow our markets and our customer base. They must be a self-starter with strong interpersonal skills and tremendous strength in team-building and leading cross-functional product development teams. Customer intimacy is first and foremost, so the individual must possess confident business and clear communication skills. This position requires strong business communication to customers, managers, and internal team members through reports, presentations, and analysis- all conducted in the English language. However, due to the global nature of our business and customers, proficiency in other languages is preferred. Travel will be expected, primarily in United States but some international, to attend customer meetings and VOC interviews. Estimated total travel to be 30-50%.

It is critical for the individual hired to come into this role enthusiastic and ready to work, with clear objectives laid before them. In the first 6-months, the expectation for this candidate will be as follows:

Understand the key customers, markets and segments GAST plays in today and identify new opportunities

Learn the business' products, customers, and competition

Understand existing NPD initiatives, as well as new opportunities, where they are in the tollgate process, and marketing's immediate actions that are due- prioritize the projects

Train and focus on 80/20 methods to execute on product line "clean-up"

Determine and differentiate GAST North America vs. Global Markets - structure on "how to win" in key growth markets given the nuances and changing needs

Be a critical input to research, ideas, and compilation of market intelligence

Be a conduit to team on marketing communication needs


Candidates will be expected to provide evidence that they can excel in the following areas:

Strategic direction setting- Product/Segment identification, sizing, intelligence and road maps

Grow revenues through driving strategic NPD initiatives in core markets with core products - starting with qualifying and leading major projects on cross-functional team through to successful launch and growth of product line

Competitive benchmarking and market share/trend analysis pricing and promotion

Deploy 80/20 methodologies to our lines, customers, and pricing to optimize focus and value in existing portfolio

Co-develop key customers and develop channel with sales

A leader in driving the brand and further developing its presence in strategic categories

Collaborate with global teammates on pricing strategies and marketing communications

Key input and researcher in the development of STRAP and annual operating projections, as well as assist in monthly SIOP and forecasting of new products

Performance metrics creation and execution

Demonstrated long track record of successful execution of plans and growing responsibilities in a top company(ies).

Ability to understand a larger vision, and break it down into strategic product plans to better serve and grow our markets and our customer base.

Demonstrated drive for results through developing and executing strategic plans

Demonstrated ability to drive results through cross-functional teams by marshalling a team, securing commitments, and holding others accountable through effective project management skills

Commercial Acumen:
Demonstrated ability to analyze market and product competitive threats and opportunities and develop action plans based on this analysis

Strategic Thinking:
Demonstrated ability to recognize and leverage operational and product strengths into opportunities for success

Demonstrated commitment to proactive communication, cross-functional team communication, and continuous quality improvement

Must show initiative, be self-directed, and anticipate and prevent problems in execution

Demonstrated ability to proficiently use computers and software.

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Persons occupying this position will be expected to sign an Employee Inventions and Proprietary Information agreement.

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing/Business, MS or MBA preferred

Appropriate product / solutions management and technical background. Candidate must possess background in marketing OEM or industrial type products through multiple channels.

Integrated system product background ideal

At least five (5) years of experience in marketing, branding, product management, sales, or project / engineering management required. Evidence of Increased roles and responsibilities during prior experience preferred.

At least five (5) years in product marketing management with increasing responsibility in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Experience in an environment that embraced 80/20 principles is considered a plus.

Ability to work in a technical and collaborative environment, analytically savvy, and understanding of global scalability required.

Some level of international experience preferred

Working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access required
