PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
Own Product commercialization success from ideation to launch to end of life:

  • Understand the Fire space both domestically and globally including the competitors, channels, trends, technologies, regulations and business models
  • Understand the competitive landscape and how we win and why competitors win
  • Own and drive the Marketing elements of the JCI NPI process including ideation, customer need identification, concept definition and product launch in co-ordination with the commercial teams, strong understanding of varied channels in the industry
  • Support building and strengthen the working relationship between all functional departments involved with the NPI and Product Sustaining activities. This includes engineering, marketing, sales, training, technical documentation & customer/technical support.
  • Drive demand creation strategies and drive all field activities to maximize the sales and margin potential of product
  • Expert proficiency in the following key marketing skills: strategy & planning, value management and pricing, customer relationship management, products and services management, domain/industry knowledge, program & project management, research, analysis & voice of customer (VOC) collection. Understanding of and intermediate proficiency transactional pricing, channel management & brand management.
  • Collaborate with the product and sales teams as well as other BE engineering and product marketing teams to understand all potential technologies and offerings that could be applied to this business.
  • Work with Mar Com and corporate Marketing to successfully launch new products marketing collateral, training, and launch events are developed for both internal and external customers.
  • Adept at all facets of product marketing and ability to support and influence product portfolio life cycle management and processes.
  • Track and know the sales performance of all new products introduced and analyze for appropriate course corrections to insure that NPI revenue targets are met.
  • 20-30% Travel
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelors Degree
  • 5-7 years or more experience in product marketing/management
Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Fire industry a must
  • 7-10 years or more experience in a project or systems integration business a huge plus
  • Excellent broad-based business thinker who can collaborate effectively with peers and executive functional and senior business line leaders.
  • Track record of establishing &executing short/long term product growth goals
  • Strong business acumen, and an in-depth understanding of the marketing and financial implications of new opportunities.
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization and strong presentation skills
Under general direction, leads, develops, executes and manages the roadmap, delivers on the following 1) Market driven and differentiated roadmap 2) Cross functional team engagement and buy in 3) globally aligned 4) execution focused 5) engages with sales, operations and technical support to address on-going product issues and take corrective actions 6) Clear go to market strategies and commercialization excellence 7) Manages pricing, drives performance metrics for products 8) communicates all of the above consistently and clearly 9) Personal attributes – customer focused, inclusive, clear thinker, open to feedback, execution driven
