Salary Range: £35k to £45k, 10% Bonus, Company Car Dept: Product Marketing

About the role

The successful candidate will lead on the creation and implementation of strategic marketing plans that are aligned to corporate strategic objectives, through a thorough understanding and research of market and product dynamics. This will include working closely with technical product managers, sales managers, channel managers and customer relations in business streams, as well as engaging with the market through key clients, trade associations etc. The ideal candidate will be a strong marketer with experience of working within a Standards environment.

Essential Requirements

Champion for the product portfolio:
Identify opportunities and develop strategic marketing plans for the portfolio

Working in conjunction with the Global Portfolio Managers to define and refine value proposition and customer messaging for assigned products and campaigns

Spread best practice across EMEA and influence other product portfolios

Supporting sales

Manage and direct a dedicated Campaign Executive to ensure that marketing activity is aligned to product and business objectives

Drive lead generation activity in UK through the development of marketing campaigns, and tracking results to inform future plans working closely with Marketing Services

Launch new products and maximise the potential of existing ones.

Develop effective content for marketing campaigns for UK and sharing across EMEA.

Product training for UK sales, admin and client managers

Deliver presentations at events, to customers and industry groups in UK

Major bid support, and support during specific client visits

New product development

Influence global product R&D, and involvement in global product launches for sectors

Managing UK product launches, and providing support for local launches across EMEA

Identifying and driving new product developments to transfer across other portfolios

Market knowledge - develop and share knowledge on the industry sector and market & monitor competition

Produce product budgets and forecasts

Report to management on product/sector status.

Effective oversight of Risk and Sustainability plans to ensure they are aligned, integrated and deliver maximum business benefit, advising other Product Marketing Managers as required.

Candidate Spec

Educated to degree level or equivalent professional standard

Good understanding of the product portfolios and / or market(s) being addressed

An understanding and working knowledge of marketing and product management

With proven experience in either product marketing management or marketing communications

Strong management skills. An ability to support the development of other members of the team

Knowledge of principles and applications of National, European and International Standardisation an advantage.

Strong team player.

Evidence of strong networking and relationship building with internal and external customers/associations

Customer focused – credible with internal/external customers.

Authoritative, collaborative, organised & proactive
