Product Management Workstation (PMW) Analyst:|
The focus of this position is largely process-oriented in nature and requires sharp attention to detail, logical thinking skills, and the ability to quickly learn new software. The primary function of this role is to build and maintain premium rating scenarios using software programs and a customer database consisting of insurance rating characteristics. Essentially, this requires transposing an insurance rating manual into an interactive tool using the data fields available in our rating database.
Maintain premium rating scenarios – develop deep understanding of Allstate personal lines rate calculations, the rating database, and the core software programs
Partner with pricing analysts to gather requirements and deliver new scenarios
Modify and test existing scenarios to reflect rate changes and new data
Build new scenarios as needed for expanded states and lines of insurance
Perform detailed testing and documentation through database queries and mainframe audits; adhere to internal review process for quality assurance
Autonomy to make daily decisions on the best application of data fields to meet accuracy standards, and conversely, to identify and resolve any data issues
Assist in generating recurring reports and extracting data for standardized tools
Demonstrated interest in process-oriented and data-driven work
Sharp attention to detail
Instinctive logical thinking and problem solving skills
Data manipulation – proven experience and interest in working with data sets
Good communication skills (written/verbal)
Basic time and project management skills
Great team player
Basic computer and MS Office proficiency, intermediate in Excel, ability to learn new programs
0 to 5 years experience in a quantitative role and/or in the P&C insurance industry.
College degree preferred but not required. Relevant quantitative or computer coursework is a plus.
