Dedicated to helping farmers prosper, Cargill AgHorizons U.S. helps customers manage their risk and maximize production through grain marketing alternatives, grain marketing advisory services, crop insurance, agronomic advice and crop inputs. Part of Cargill's global agricultural supply chain group, Cargill AgHorizons serves customers with a 1,500-member team at more than 100 grain elevators and service centers across the United States
This position will play an integral role in the growth and compliance of Cargill AgHorizons’s dynamic and fast-paced business focused on providing grain marketing advisory services to farm customers. The Cargill AgHorizons Marketing Services (CAMS) Sales Specialist will work closely with service territories across the Western Cornbelt to coach, train, and develop local Grain Marketing Advisors, who develop and execute grain marketing plans with customers. The Sales Specialist will work to help achieve the growth goals and objectives expected of each business territory, as well as, ensure sales activity compliance with required processes and industry rules.
This individual will be trained to assure their depth of understanding of the CAMS service, as well as, be highly skilled on the sales process to ensure all proper steps are taken to effectively grow our customer base while providing outstanding service to existing customers. The employee will participate in conduct training sessions, observe sales calls, engage in marketing & business planning, and conduct compliance activities.
This position will focus on supporting the growth and compliance of Cargill AgHorizons Marketing Services (CAMS) business across the Western Cornbelt (Dakotas, Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas, and Western Iowa).
Principal Accountabilities:
60% - Support PMM sales and customer service activities focused on best practice coaching (1-on-1 or group trainings), producer meetings / local events, and compliance / auditing.
20% - Build strong relationships with FSG Sales Leader and FSG Leader to provide insight and leadership in the following dimensions: CAMS business growth plan, collaborative training & development plans for PMMs, FSG CAMS communications, team meeting support and compliance.
20% - Support development and execution of Product Line growth initiatives (e.g., sales process improvements, marketing campaigns, product enhancements, etc.)
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree
3 + years post undergraduate experience in sales, agriculture, business, finance or experience serving agriculture based customers
Must possess or be able to obtain Series 3 CTA Certification within 60 days of hire date
Resourceful and able to work with ambiguity
Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
Demonstrated initiative in challenging status quo and quickly adapting to changes
The ability to teach and train others
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Excellent spelling, grammar, and proofreading skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Power Point
Ability to travel 50-75% of the time throughout the region
Desired:
Degree in business administration, agricultural economics, agriculture, finance, accounting, marketing
Previous sales, grain trading/merchandising, or grain advisory experience
An understanding of risk management theory, diversification, and portfolio theory
