Job Summary:
Spirent's ITO and Enterprise group is seeking passionate PV Intern engineer to join our team in Sunnyvale. As a PV Intern you will work together with Program Managers and Software Development Engineers to release the ITO and Enterprise products with excellent quality. You will take part in all aspects of the software product development cycle from planning, design, and implementation and all the way to release. We have a passion for quality and a strong motivation for delivering highly valuable products and solutions. We have a strong focus on designing and developing automated test systems to validate functionality, performance, stability and scalability of enterprise class products installed by all our customers. We also have a strong focus on usability and user experience assessments and develop and use scientific methods to improve product usability. Measuring product quality and fitness is highly challenging and requires ingenuity, innovation and excellent engineering skills.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Achieve in-depth understanding of Spirent’s product domain, pertinent technologies and development processes.
• Assess and understand basic testing methodologies, Spirent ITO and Enterprise products, and new product requirements.
• Understand Product Verification automated test environment, tools and script development process.
• Maintain the lab devices including ESXi servers, routers, switches, systems software, and other test servers.
• Based on product requirements create test plans and test cases, coordinating test plan reviews, test case reviews.
• Will assume responsibility for the testing of assigned software and/or hardware projects involving various networking protocols.
• Oversee and maintain the various automation systems/environments currently in use.
• Develop new iTest, web GUI and CLI scripts for additional test coverage.
• Oversee and maintain internal build/regression system on Jenkins/Electric Cloud.
Education:
B.Sc. Engineering or Computer Science or EE.

Experience:
Must possess the ability to effectively communicate with all team members and with the management team on design issues, test planning and decisions.
• Able to troubleshoot technical issues and find solutions to complex problems.
• The candidate must have a minimum of one year QA experience with TCL/TK and/or Perl, Python, Selenium tools.
• Able to configure Cisco and Juniper switches and routers.
• The candidate must possess knowledge of Networking Technologies including IP related protocols and knowledge of Routing Protocols such as RIP, OSPF and BGP.
• Knowledge of Layer 2 and VLAN Technologies is also highly desirable.
• Knowledge of Linux operating systems.
• Experience with setup and configuration of network and traffic generation devices.
Certifications:
Cisco CCNA certification will be an added advantage.
