This is a permanent, direct hire opportunity.
Direct support of the manufacturing process with technical responsibility to include tooling, part fabrication, and/or assembly. Develop manufacturing processes while supporting Continuous Improvement Activities by identifying and driving corrective action throughout the processes.
Provide leadership to Engineering co-workers and support personnel; serve as subject matter expert for assigned areas and product
Engineering member of Material Review Board and process expert; trains other Engineers to become members of the Material Review Board and serves as Peer Review.
Self-starter. Able to work independently or in cross-functional teams to solve problems.
Good communicator, able to serve as mentor and train other Engineers in manufacturing techniques.
Prior experience with military aircraft a plus.
Accountable for a broad range of product development, new product quotes, first article development, and configuration changes that involve cost estimation, schedule coordination, process definition, and implementation.
Responsible for ensuring parts, assemblies, and/or tools are consistent with company and customer supplied quality assurance standards.
Responsible for technical support of manufacturing process development and integration.
Responsible for disposition of nonconforming product, preparation of work instructions, and process improvements.
Monitors parts and/or tools with past discrepancies through root cause analysis.
Continuously improves processes via work instructions, statistical process control (SPC), engineering process changes, and tooling changes.
Strong experience with blueprint and process spec interpretation as well as GD&T
Experience with CATIA or UNIGRAPHICS a plus.
Maintains positive, teaming relationship with internal and external customers, as well as co-workers.
Education: The position requires a B.S. degree in engineering from an ABET certified program.
Experience and Qualifications: A minimum of ten years of experience with a minimum of six years of manufacturing support experience. Requires a thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures. Experience in composites and/or assemblies. MRB experience is required.
