Duties and essential work functions
Possess the ability to plan ahead of daily paint line schedule, (i.e.) ensure enough paint is at workstation for color being painted to prevent downtime.
Test & adjust equipment before parts arrive at the paint booth.
Touch up parts as needed to meet quality standards.
Visually inspect parts being painted for defects (i.e. light paint, paint too heavy, etc.)
Perform color changes following established procedures and time limits .
Perform routine system start up/shutdown procedures where applicable.
Perform preventive maintenance of washer system as required, (i.e. clean tanks, remove sludge, clean w/pressure washer, adjust risers/nozzles, etc).
Adjust line speed to correspond with parts being painted.
Perform preventive maintenance on powder booth, spray parts, etc.
Ability to read a tape measure to the nearest 1/16”.
Ability to read and interpret paint schedules
Ability to effectively interact and communicate with paint line team leaders and team members.
Must be able to adapt to changing situations – rapidly.
Possess the ability to work overtime on short notice
Assume other activities and responsibilities from time-to-time as directed by supervision.
Work experience and/or Education Requirements
Pass Hill PHOENIX certification training.
Previous experience in a manufacturing painting position or powder coating experience is preferred.
Essential physical/environmental requirements
Ability to hold a up a paint gun and stand for extended periods of time up to 4 hours.
May be required to perform specific tasks that involve standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting or kneeling.
Must be able to lift with or without mechanical aids on a recurring basis (up to 50 lbs)
Work is performed within a production environment, subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels and dust.
