Ultra Electronics - USSI designs and manufactures products and provides engineering services under two business areas: undersea products and audio products. USSI is an industry leader in the development and production of advanced electronic, electro-mechanical, and hydro-acoustic sensors, including sonobuoys, and sensor systems for military, homeland security, and commercial applications. USSI designs and manufactures communications equipment for integration into personal protective gear for firefighters and first responders as well as acoustic hailing products, which provide unparalleled fidelity long range voice communications and large area mass notification.

Responsible for the management and leadership of the Audio Products manufacturing segment and warranty/repair group. Daily support and monitoring of production activities, assist in product technical detail resolution, ensure schedule compliance, understand the costs and risks associated with all current production audio products. Provide leadership and development of Production Team members and non-union hourly workforce. Responsible for the technical resources supporting design and manufacture of the products, including product improvements. Establish, monitor and report monthly on production goals and priorities. Responsible for establishing and meeting bid costs for products. Maintains accurate and timely program budgets. The program manager must make cost effective decisions to maintain customer satisfaction, production goals and minimize production risks. Works with production management , materials supply management, and the quality organization to meet these goals. This position reports directly to the Director of Production Programs.

Job Requirements

Must be a US citizen and capable of getting a security clearance.
Bachelors degree in Engineering or Technical discipline (EE/ME/EET/MET).
10 years related experience in manufacturing environment with progressively increasing responsibility.
A minimum of 3yrs experience managing 6 or more salaried people.
Proven ability to work in with cross-functional team settings with Engineering, Business Development and Production.
Experience in direct customer interface and contractual requirements.
Experience in Lean systems, or related process improvement methodologies.
Strong communication skills in all directions and forms.

Advanced Professional degree is preferred.
Experience in electronics manufacturing and finished goods assembly.
Experience in department budgeting and project financial planning.
Experience in quality systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
