CAREER OPPORTUNITY
Manage quality systems and Quality Assurance Department for facility with > $200MM revenue. Provide tactical and strategic direction to build and develop a “best in class organization” to support the long-term growth of the business. Drive execution of the Quality Policy to enable precision manufacturing and workmanship resulting in products that meet or exceed customer expectations for performance and consistency. This position will also lead the productivity/transformation effort, including oversight for capability building programs. The scope of the effort includes cost, capital, organizational capability development, and site coordination with divisional and corporate initiatives. This is a change agent role which requires strong leadership, critical thinking, strong business acumen, communication and organizational skills.Direct a training group that enables business plan execution by creating and maintaining a well-trained workforce upgrading job skills and overall performance. Supervise a staff of three professionals and 9 hourly employees. Indirectly lead and inspire a team of nearly 200 employees in the creation and delivery of innovative packaging solutions.
HOW YOU WILL IMPACT MWV
Ensure customer expectations met through performance monitoring, analyzing complaint data, and setting of product specifications based on market need and process capability.
Provide relevant, accurate, and timely testing and inspection data regarding product quality.
Provide assistance to plant personnel in troubleshooting quality and manufacturing issues.
Drive quality improvement efforts, including corrective/preventive actions.
Call duty support for plant operations
Oversee the initiatives, guide the plant leadership team, ensure that projects are properly scoped, chartered and carried out, and work with finance to track savings to the bottom line.
Perform comprehensive best practices analysis and adapt/integrate these practices into the organization as part of continuous improvement initiatives.
Direct team in developing and continuously improving training material with a focus on improved understanding of procedure and task content – integrate safety and new SAP/Optivision platform.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Be able to work in a high pace work environment and adapt to unexpected change.
Minimum 5 years manufacturing experience, knowledge of converting processes and equipment is a plus
BS Degree in Engineering or Applied Science preferred
Strong analytical and diagnostic problem solving skills with Six Sigma and Lean training and practice
