Application Analyst /Support Application Engineer/production support analyst
Level 1 Engineer - Device & IP Provisioning Service
Minimum Requirements & Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors of Science or Applied Science in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering or 3+ years work or industry related experience.
• Working knowledge and experience with DHCP administration, DNS troubleshooting and administration, TFTP, NTP, ARP, SNMP, and DOCSIS
• Working knowledge and experience in the use of both Windows (NT, 2000) and UNIX (Solaris, Linux) Operating systems
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases (eg: Oracle)
• Experience with Unix shell and/or Perl programming
• Minimum of 1+ years in an ISP like environment
• Analytical and problem solving ability
• Good oral/written communication and interpersonal skills
• Working knowledge of VOIP Telephony systems
• Basic Subnetting

Applications Analyst /Support Application Engineer
Level 1 Engineer - Device & IP Provisioning Service Team

• Proficiency in adding scopes
• Proficiency in performing IP scope reclaims
• Proficiency in Outage Management and Escalation Procedure
• Proficient with Image Control
• Knowledge and troubleshooting of provisioning architecture including DOCSIS/DHCP/DNS/RDU
• Knowledge and troubleshooting of CDV eMTA provisioning including DDNS and KDC
• Knowledge of Unix file systems and ability to work independently in Linux or Solaris
• Monitor Network Management, Email and Provisioning systems and react appropriately to the reported problem / traps including acknowledgement and creation of trouble tickets for all service-affecting issues
• Respond in a timely manner to all email in-box requests
• Assist in developing and improving procedures and processes for operational issues to improve process
• Maintain updated documentation in a repository (Stellant) of all operating systems and application documentation (ie., disaster recovery and security procedures, and other documentation as required) in order to expedite access to critical information/escalations/M&Ps
• Ensure appropriate personnel are engaged on critical conference bridges, update and provide documentation in outage ticket (TTS)
• Utilize and ensure ONTool paging adherence
• Understand essential subnetting as it applies to scope management
• Ensure complete TTS documentation for all changes performed
• Pass down and shift report must be complete (include all current issues) communicated to the next shift verbally and via email
• Provide summary reports and communicate status of activities to Management.
