Pentair’s Flow Technologies GBU is a leading provider of residential water pumps, irrigation and crop spray equipment, and marine and specialty pumps and accessories. Key markets include residential end users, waste water dealers and distributors, and agricultural irrigation, and crop protection industries. It also provides specialty application water management products for recreational vehicles (RV), marine, and mobile fire markets. Flow Technologies brands include STA-RITE, Myers, Hydromatic, Flotec, Water Ace, Berkeley, Aermotor, Simer, Hypro, FoamPro, SHURflo, Onga, Nocchi and JUNG.

Act as front-line leadership for Assembly Operators, Waterspider/Tuggers, making sure that the assembly lines are meeting Takt, while identifying and solving any and all issues that prevent Takt from being met. Drives continuous improvement.

Required Skills:
Essential Job Functions1 .Actively support a safe and clean work environment

Perform morning safety walk of area(s) of responsibility every day

*
Audit one cell every day for 5S compliance

*
Document any safety or environmental issues on the countermeasure board

*
Participate in any safety investigations

2. Daily labor planning

*
Make sure all jobs are covered in the area(s) that are owned, covering any jobs that are open

*
Communicate to the supervisor if there is extra or not enough labor resources

*
Work with production control if there are issues with scheduling orders or hot orders.

3. Identify and own issues affecting Quality, Delivery, and Cost, finding the root cause, and implementing fixes for those issues

*
Ensure that assembly process runs smooth and uninterrupted

*
Identify, document, and seek root cause solution for any and all issues that interfere with the assembly process. Use Root Cause Analysis tools (RCA Form, A3, Fishbone, 5 Why, etc) as necessary.

*
Capture issues on the countermeasure board, and immediately communicate issue to responsible party if outside of span of control following the documented escalation plan. Follow-up as necessary.

*
Report out on issues and actions from the countermeasure board during Gemba walk

*
Review daily scrap and make sure issues are on countermeasure board.

4. Ensuring there’s a well trained and cross-trained workforce

*
Must be expert in assembly for all owned product lines.

*
Review training matrix to ensure there is at least one primary operator and two backups trained on every job

*
Utilize cross-training to make the operators more versatile, including working with other Team Leads and/or Supervisors to cross-train across departments.

5. Auditing processes to make sure standard is being followed

*
Perform daily area 5S audit to ensure cleanliness

*
Audit one cell for standard work per day

*
Audit Kanban cards and bin labels daily

Check to make sure all tooling/gauges/indirect materials are available for the operators

Minimum Qualifications

*
Education: High school diploma

*
Experience: Two years assembly experience in owned product lines. Three to five years lean manufacturing experience. Should understand standard work, flex plans, 5S, reduction/elimination of waste, material flow, and other basic lean principles.

*
Specific Skills: MS Office, SAP, problem solving, certified forklift operator.
