We have an immediate opening for a Registered Electrical Engineer to join our team in the DFW area. This office is responsible for the production and management of a variety of public sector projects, including public works infrastructure and transportation improvements, water/wastewater development, and airport related projects. This person would be responsible for the design of facilities related electrical systems in support of a variety of markets including, but not limited to, airports, water/wastewater, and municipal clients.
The Electrical Engineer will be expected to coordinate and work closely with a multidiscipline design team throughout the entire life cycle of projects from planning stages, through the development of construction documents, and construction administration. This individual will be responsible for the development of drawings, specifications, and supporting engineering calculations, as well as the review of shop drawings during construction. Experience in the design of building related electrical systems such as lighting and controls, power systems (normal and emergency), and low voltage systems (telecommunications, fire alarm, security) is required. This individual should be self motivated and possess strong leadership skills with an initiative to deliver high quality, technically sound electrical designs. Must be able to direct the activities of staff and other engineering professionals and act as a mentor to other staff members.
At a minimum, candidates must meet the following educational, professional and personal requirements:
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university degree program. Must submit transcript with application for consideration if experience is less than 5 years. Registration in Texas and ability to pursue reciprocal registration in other states a must.
3-10 years experience. Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm required. Experience with airport lighting, ILS, NAVAIDS will be given strong consideration. Aptitude and/or demonstrated hands-on experience with computer applications such as AutoCAD a plus. Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel required. Responsive and results oriented in service to clients. Ability to plan, schedule work and complete work assignments within established budgets and timelines. Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired but not required.
