Central Regional Hospital, a state psychiatric hospital located in Butner, NC has immediate openings for Professional Nurses on the Forensic Services Unit. Positions available on the Pretrial Unit (1st shift), Maximum Security Unit (1st shifts), Medium Security Unit (1st and 3rd shift), Minimum Security Unit (2nd and 3rd shift) and (alternating weekends and holidays required). Please specify shift and unit preference when applying. 1st shift hours are 7am-3:30pm, 2nd shift hours are 3pm-11:30pm and 3rd shift 11pm-7:30am. These positions works with adults over the age of 18 with pending legal charges, individuals' forum Incapable to proceed on legal charges, or Not Guilty by Reasons of Insanity.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies:
Prefer experience in a psychiatric setting but will train. Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form is required. Must be able to speak and write English proficiently. Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team with social work, psychiatrists, Rehabilitation, psychologists, etc. Ability to interact with patients in a respectful manner as well as their families in coordination and patient education. Ability to de-escalate angry and aggressive patients using therapeutic techniques. Ability to monitor patients for abuse and report. Ability to give direction as a Charge Nurse to other RN's, LPN and Certified Nursing Aids. ADA Physical Requirements will be discussed during the interview process, but include the ability to pass CPR, Protective Interventions (NVCI) and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the state of North Carolina. . . . .
