Whitaker PRTF seeks Professional Nurses for the TEMPORARY NURSE POOL. Whitaker PRTF is a 24-hour Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility whichprovides residential care, supervision and educational services for adolescent boys and girls with complex behaviors and emotional, psychological and neurological disorders located in Butner, NC. Theses Professional Nurses will aid in planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for residents and assist with the treatment planning. Positions will provide comprehensive resident care both directly and indirectly to residents at Whitaker. This position requires availability for all shifts including weekends.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies:
Must have knowledge of professional nursing skills, practices and procedures theory and practice of psychiatric nursing including medications, group dynamics, growth and development and adolescent and adult learning history. Must be able to speak and write English proficiently. Must be able to perform CPR, NVCI. Monitor and perform medication administration practices and apply critical thinking skills to develop improvement plans for medication errors. Due to the independent nature of these positions, management prefers individuals with previous nursing experience, including experience with adolescents in a psychiatric setting.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the state of North Carolina. .
Competency Level: Journey (Contributing Level applicants will be accepted if there no Journey Level applicants apply. Salary is determined based on competencies, equity, budget and market considerations.) Degree must be from appropriately accredited institutions. CPR Certification is required. Must be able to pass all facility requirements such as NVCI (Non Violent Crisis Intervention) and clinical/nurse orientation. ADA Physical requirements will be discussed during the interview but include the ability to walk for long distances and the ability to handle medium work which may require one to exert 50 pounds of force occasionally.
