The Institute for Minority Health Research seeks a physician scientist at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor (rank/tenure commensurate with experience) to provide medical and scientific direction in the clinical evaluation and applications of translational research for potential breakthrough therapies, guidelines, or clinical practices.

Duties:
The candidate will play a unique and pivotal role in a fast-paced environment by serving as a leader of clinical studies in translational medicine and should be fluent in all aspects of clinical science, as they pertain to observational studies, molecular research, environmental comparisons, and drug development. The candidate will play an important role influencing the selection, development and registration of breakthrough applications through Internal and external partnerships.

Qualifications:
Applicants must have a doctorate in medicine, public health or a related discipline or field; strong methodological skills; and demonstrated excellence in research, teaching, advising and mentoring and a desire to improve the health of minority populations. A robust record of publications, extensive extramural funding experience, and a commitment to education and mentoring is strongly encouraged.
