The Institute for Minority Health Research seeks a research scholar at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor (rank/tenure commensurate with experience) with an expertise in the b iologic, behavioral and/or socioeconomic determinants of health in minority populations coupled with a passion for training and educating residents, fellows and faculty. The successful candidate must be a respected scholar and a skilled administrator with significant experience in building interdisciplinary research and education programs.
C ollaborate, lead and mentor in the design and evaluation of educational programs focused on minority health, acquire funding and conduct high-quality research; publish peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and/or books; teach and advise students, faculty and staff; and serve on Department, College, University, and community committees.
Applicants must have a doctorate in medicine, public health or a related discipline or field; strong methodological skills; and demonstrated excellence in research, teaching, advising and mentoring and a desire to improve the health of minority populations. A robust record of publications, extensive extramural funding experience, and a commitment to education and mentoring is strongly encouraged.
