Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED and five (5) years related experience in project management. Relevant coursework in a related field may substitute for some years of experience.
- Demonstrated experience providing administrative support to academic faculty, or executive level personnel.
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency with use of Microsoft Office based software (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) in addition to Adobe Acrobat or like programs.
- Previous experience preparing, organizing, managing and submitting grant applications for public (e.g. NIH), foundation (e.g. American Heart Association) or private sector based organizations.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with health care terminology.
- Previous experience preparing, organizing, managing and submitting grant applications for public (e.g. NIH), foundation (e.g. American Heart Association) or private sector based organizations.
- Previous experience with University of Minnesota EGMS and EFS accounting systems.
- Evidence of proficiency in written and oral communication skills.
- Ideal candidate must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and professionally with a broad range of constituents in a collaborative environment.
- Evidence of a commitment to quality customer service and the ability to exercise good judgment.
- Demonstrated experience working with people from diverse backgrounds.
- University of Minnesota experience.

Duties/Responsibilities
40%: Grant Support
- Grants Management - Administrative coordination and support for the development, collection, assembly, editing, and submission of materials required for faculty initiated research applications.
- Assists individual faculty members with initial grant budgeting for grant and sub-contract applications related to research initiatives.
- Serves as liaison to the College of Pharmacy grant administrator
- Establishes and maintains Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for grants submissions for the Department.

40%: Financial Support
- Provides account management oversight for departmental accounts (includes sponsored, non-sponsored and departmental O&M accounts)
- Serves as a primary member of the administrative team to process expense reimbursements, cash advances, research subject payments, vendor contracts, purchase orders, blanket orders, provide reconciliation of p-card transactions for the department.
- Serves as departmental liaison to the College of Pharmacy Business Office for financial/budgetary matters.
- Creates and monitors departmental shadow accounting system for departmental accounts.

20%: Administrative Support
- Primary lead for preparation of the department promotion and tenure related process and collegiate compact process.
- Maintains the Faculty Annual Review (FAR) guidance document and guides procedures related to the conduct of FAR's.
- Composes and maintains department policies and procedures.
- Serves as back up administrative support for ongoing department needs.
