This vacancy is located within Transportation Services-Permits, Facilities Planning & Management, University of Wisconsin – Madison. This position will work under the general supervision of the Business Services Manager .

SALARY : Starting pay is between $35,291 and $58,232 depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits . For state employees, pay will be based on the rules that apply to compensation upon transfer, reinstatement or voluntary demotion transactions; beginning pay will not be less than the minimum of the pay range. This position is included in pay schedule 07, range-04. A six-month probationary period is required.

JOB DUTIES : This position assists with the following activities: analysis of program needs, collecting data and information, developing options and plans, producing reports, issuing recommendations and implementing policies and procedures to achieve overall Department goals. This position is responsible for integration and synthesis of information from various department units to assure the quality of our products/services. There are several complex integrated processes that need to be assimilated to assure maximum lot utilization, cost effective procurement of permit products, proper payment of fees by customers, and accurate inventory of parking space, signage, and permits for the entire Department. This requires coordination between many department units assuring consistent and accurate program data, details, and procedural implementation. It requires coordination between Internal operations (application, billing, system processes) and External operations (space utilization, meter/sign inventory, and gate system operation). This position is a key member of the Business Services Team.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED : Knowledge of planning methods including data collection analysis, projections and impacts analysis. Knowledge of transportation systems planning and planning approaches. Knowledge of computer applications including Access, parking-related software, and Microsoft Office programs: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Oracle database. Knowledge of administrative techniques. Skill working with Transportation related issues. Skill in planning and public policy.
