Position Summary

The University of Connecticut is accepting applications for the full-time position of Program Aide for its Men's Basketball Program. The responsibilities include: providing program support to the Basketball coaches and staff; serving as a resource and liaison with the offices of Athletics Business, Development and Marketing; maintaining accurate documents and assisting with the processing of paperwork regarding compliance with NCAA rules; administering the process for payment of event officials; assembling data and prepares statistical and/or historical reports as needed; assisting with community relations and public appearances for the Men's Basketball Coaches and student-athletes; and carrying out special assignments and performing related duties as assigned by the Head Coach or the Director of Men's Basketball Administration.


Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience and training; one to two years experience in a college athletics administrative/office support position within the past five years utilizing knowledge of team travel requirements and the recruitment of collegiate student-athletes; knowledge and prior experience with the correct application of relevant NCAA rules and regulations; excellent computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Photoshop; and excellent organizational, communications and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications: One to two years (within the past five years) experience in an administrative/office support (non-coaching) position with a Division I basketball office; direct experience coordinating team travel and individual recruiting travel for coaches; knowledge of the recruiting calendar; and previous experience coordinating meetings and providing office support for a Division I basketball program.

Appointment Terms

Salary is commensurate with experience.
