Under the general direction of the designated supervisor, coordinate and implement recreational opportunities at City Recreational and Park facilities to enhance the quality of life for the community.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the City’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include, assigning, and directing work; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Program and schedule activities and events to increase program effectiveness and facility usage. Supervise recreation attendant staff, as needed, to ensure the implementation of safe and effective events and programs. Inspect, report and/or correct minor facility deficiencies. Market, advertise, and budget for events and programs. Facilitate and assist in the coordination of special events. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
Two year degree in recreation or related field. One year experience in recreation or related filed; or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other government agencies and the general public, especially the youth. Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record. Proficient in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software. Able to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations

Supplemental Information:
Tasks involve sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, crouching, reaching and performing other physical requirements commensurate with demands of the position. Manual dexterity to operate equipment in performance of duties. Must have good vision (corrective lenses acceptable); must be able to hear (hearing aids acceptable); must be able to speak (express or exchange of information by means of spoken words). May occasionally lift and/or carry/move up to 10 pounds. Contact with internal and external customers, vendors, outside agencies and the general public. Occasionally exposed to adverse weather conditions, including wet and/or humid conditions. Required to work hours other than the regular schedule including nights, weekends, holidays and during emergencies.
