Title/Description: Program Director (Research and Farms). The position is a 12 month
20% administrative appointment in the College of Agricultural Sciences.
Candidates will continue a 9 or 12 month 80% appointment in the tenured
department based on their current faculty appointment.

Qualifications: The successful candidate must possess an earned doctoral
degree and hold the rank of Professor within the College of Agricultural
Sciences. Experience with the College's research program and the University
Farms is preferred. The successful candidate must also have demonstrated
leadership experience, as well as administrative potential.

Responsibilities: The Program Director (Research and Farms) will be an
integral part of the Dean's Leadership Team to oversee farm facility needs. The
selected individual will be expected to: Participate in agriculture commodity
conversations with organizations such as Illinois Soybean Association, Illinois
Farm Bureau, etc.; Serve as Co-Chair of the Illinois Soybean Center (ISC) with
financial oversight of the ISC and Illinois Soybean Association Endowment to
SIU Carbondale; Serve as an advisor to the Dean on farm operations related to SIU
properties (SIU's University and Experimental Farms including-Carbondale,
Belleville Research Center, and Kuehn Farm in Dowell, Illinois); Serve on the
Dean's executive board.
