Program Director – Medical Rehabilitation Unit ( Mercy Hospital of Buffalo ): As an integral member of the Rehabilitation patient service line, the Director will be responsible for the financial (profit and loss), clinical outcomes and day-to-day operations of the specific site. Responsibilities will include budgeting, staffing (hiring and staff development), operational improvement, and Rehabilitation system strategic planning and program development with emphasis on market growth.
REPORTS TO:
Director of Acute and MRU Rehabilitation Services, Vice President of Patient Care Services
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Nursing and rehabilitation staff of MRU.
SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS (MINIMUM): EDUCATION:
Graduate of accredited professional nursing program - OR- related rehabilitation health care profession
Bachelor's in healthcare related field or BSN (preferred) with Rehab experience - OR- Masters degree in rehabilitation health care profession required
Current RN Licensure or related rehabilitation licensure (PT, OT, Speech Therapist) in the State of New York .
BLS, ACLS certification within one (1) year of employment
Certification in specialty area desirable (Rehab Nursing)
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of five (5) years clinical experience.
Minimum of three (3) years in professional management.
Experience with Prospective Payment System (PPS) and outcome measurements for MRU preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:
Management/Marketing skills
Financial / Budgetary experience
Competent computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc)
