On July 23rd, Healthways entered into an exclusive partnership with Dean Ornish, M.D., to operate and license his Lifestyle Management Programs. Dr. Ornish’s programs, combined with Healthways’ well-being improvement platform, will enable the Company to comprehensively leverage proven lifestyle behavior change programs that serve the purpose of preventing, treating and reversing certain chronic diseases.

The Ornish program has proven effective against coronary artery disease. Healthways will now train and certify health systems, health plans, hospitals and physician groups, allowing them to deliver programs that can manage and help reverse the progression of chronic diseases.

The Ornish Program is provided by a collaborative, synergistic, interdisciplinary team. Team members embody key principles of the Program.
We are currently recruiting for the following role:

Program Director

The Program Director is responsible for actively marketing and promoting the Program to prospective participants and health care professionals. Building support from senior level management is key to the success of the program. Communicating outcomes and personal success stories to management helps to ensure the survival of the program. Garnering support from physicians will yield referrals to drive program success. The primary goal is to meet pre-determined participant enrollment objectives.

ADMINISTRATION

- Monitor compliance with all contracts and financial commitments, off-site location, sub licensee, etc.

- Ensure the Program is operating as defined in the Program Operations Manual and in a manner that guarantee quality, cost, and clinical effectiveness.

- Develops the Program budget and monitors month-to-month financial statements and adherence to the budget. Reviews and approves payment for all Program related expenditures, i.e., approves all orders before they are placed and invoices for payment when received.

- Oversees the development, utilization, and maintenance of Program facility and equipment.

- Facilitates communication about all Program issues to reporting entities.

- Assists with team conference calls and participates in other Program related conference calls as appropriate.

- Participates in a minimum of 75% of network Program Director Conference Calls.

PATIENT RECRUITMENT

- Utilize the adaptable marketing tools and provided materials to schedule, monitor and follow-up on marketing and sales activities and to support enrollment and marketing activities to maximize visibility of the Program.

- Integrate Program Marketing and Public Relations efforts with broader, institutional marketing initiatives.

- Oversee the creation and maintenance of an inquiry management system e.g., a database of potential prospects from a variety of sources.

- Coordinate the schedule and delivery of all internal and external marketing opportunities to engage prospective Program participants including tours, lectures, seminars, open houses, etc.

- Develop and coordinate physician educational outreach initiatives such as grand rounds, lunchtime presentations, and seminars.

Qualifications
· Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree, Business Administration/Hospital Administration with marketing focus preferred.
· At least one year of professional sales/marketing experience (or the equivalent work experience). Must have working knowledge of cardiology product lines such as cardiac rehabilitation, wellness Programs, community outreach initiatives, and cardiovascular screening methods.
· Entrepreneurial in nature and demonstrates exemplary interpersonal skills.
· Previous experience building and managing successful multidisciplinary patient care programs, to include developing and monitoring budgets.
· Experience managing cardiac rehabilitation programs preferred.
· Strong team building, administration and participative management skills.
· Comprehensive understanding of billing and reimbursement procedures for hospital related services.
· High-level understanding of the clinical underpinnings of the Program.
· Exemplary verbal and written skills as a Program representative to all communities.
· Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), at the minimum, is required.
