The Program Leader, Strategic Leader Development will be responsible for individual executive development of Franklin Templeton’s top leadership. This would include targeted learning plans for key individuals and programs such as executive coaching, mentorship, assessment strategies, and experiential learning to ensure FTI has the leadership required to advance the business strategy.

The success of this role requires an effective partnership with key HR functions including Talent Management and Organizational Partners to deliver curriculum and programs that support a common leadership framework and to build executive development that aligns with talent progression and planning. The Program Leader works with HR Business Partners to deliver talent management programs and development assignments that meet our client’s business needs. In addition, this position works with Recruitment to integrate leadership attributes and assessments into recruitment strategy and tools.

Responsibilities include:
Leadership Program Design and Program Management:
Research, evaluate, develop and/or implement a broad range of talent development solutions such as competency development, leadership framework, talent review, succession planning and individual leadership coaching

Determine the role of executive coaching in executive leadership development plans and oversee the quality of and effectivenss of coaching assignments to drive return on investments.

Support development of experiential based programs that could include global stretch assignments and/or projects addressing critical business challenges

Assessment and Consultation:
Evaluate and recommend the use of leadership assessments to support building leadership capabilities through selection, measurement of performance, potential and emotional intelligence (i.e., recommend appropriate instruments and best practice methodologies on when and how to use them most effectively).

Provide expert advice and counsel to business and HR executives on the development of leadership and executive talent. This includes establishing an approach on how to identify the leadership capabilities required, developing individual plans to close the gaps, and evolving leadership programs that will ensure integration with other HR practices

Implement a measurement framework to track the progress of executive talent development:

Establish a system and methodology to proactively measure and track program impact

Assess executive development talent needs in regions and market available resources

Conduct research and stay abreast of current L&OD best practices and industry trends

Vendor Management:
Manage vendors and service providers of executive programs to ensure quality, effectiveness, and results


Ideal candidates will have:
Education and Experience:
BA/BS degree required. MBA or Advanced degree in Organizational Development, Organizational Behavior, Industrial/Organizational Psychology or related discipline strongly preferred.

Minimum of 15 years of related work or experience in in I/O Psychology, organizational development, executive development and related disciplines

Licenses and Certifications:
Executive coaching certification preferred

Additional Desirable Qualifications:
Experience working in an asset management or financial services firm preferred

In depth knowledge of leadership development and organization development principles and methodologies

Subject matter expertise preferred in one or more key leadership challenge areas such building effective organizations or leading and engaging people.

Demonstrated ability to manage relationships across cultures

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent communication skills are required to ensure insights generated by the group are understood by and capitalized on by sales and marketing partners

Ability to drive for results with minimal supervision, and bringing an entrepreneurial spirit to the analysis of client information.

Working knowledge of business desktop applications (i.e.: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access & Project, Windows, Visio, etc.) required

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and to establish and build strong internal working partnerships.

Strong attention to details and high quality output.

Ability to interact with senior management on a regular basis

Ability to organize and prioritize workflow, while exercising independent judgment consistent with department guidelines

Ability to adhere/respond to established time frames and schedules

Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced, team environment and work under pressure

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with HR colleagues to support business results and to identify and resolve issues.

Problem Solving and Decision Making:
Leads identification of business issues and opportunities, with a clear set of strategies or tactics to address.

Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems; ensures solutions are consistent with organization objectives

Work is performed without little direction; participates in determining objectives of assignment; plans, schedules and arranges activities in accomplishing objectives; work is reviewed for adequacy in meeting objectives
