In this key role, the Program Manager will be critical to our business and responsible for the delivery of complex development projects, including cost, schedule and technical performance.
Interface and work closely with our customer on their technical requirements, anticipate and fulfill customer needs to ensure satisfaction and continued business expansion. Facilitate business and technical decision making, provide strategic input in establishing company goals.
Responsible to oversee, direct and monitor key product deliverables.
Working across a team based matrix organization, coordinate resources necessary to be successful and meet customer deliverables.
Lead the development of project plans.
Monitor adherence to project plans and schedules, identify technical issues which may exist, proactively drive solutions and corrective action. Authority to make decisions, carry out actions and direct others in matters related to the goals of this position.
Support internal product development review meetings, review status of key project deliverables, identify, investigate and resolve issues which may exist on a proactive basis.
Facilitate all phases of a project from inception to completion, along with negotiation and finalization of development schedules.
Work with Executive Staff and functional groups to meet business objectives and commitments.
Develop control systems and expand reports that accurately measure progress, identify potential problems in sufficient time for corrective action to be taken and ensures the meeting of company's contract commitments.
Work across the organizational structure and orchestrate activities by directing the interaction of teams and functional groups and facilitate success. Utilize strong interpersonal skills to negotiate and obtain positive resolution.
BS/BA Degree in technical discipline.
Advanced Degree and PMI certification a plus.
10+ years in a similar technical PM leadership capacity, strong project management skills, outstanding communication, negotiation, organizational and leadership skills. Experience in Aviation/Aerospace.
Familiarity with Airbus a plus.
Strong background in engineering, complex technical product development, knowledge of avionics, related electronics and components.
Broad background to include Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing and related areas.
Knowledge of manpower planning, milestone scheduling, PM tools and related financial management, high attention to detail.
Experience working in both a Commercial and Dod environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications to include Project and related applications.
Capable of managing and working in an environment that is fast paced, demanding, with a focus on problem resolution and Six Sigma based process improvement.
